Children’s Summer Workshop with Teppei Kaneuji

Create a New World Together: Special Summer Holiday Workshop Inspired by YBA & BEYOND

A special hands-on art workshop for children will be held on 11 August, as part of the related programme for the exhibition YBA & BEYOND: British Art in the 90s from the Tate Collection. Led by acclaimed Japanese artist and sculptor Teppei Kaneuji, the workshop invites participants to imagine and create an entirely new world through collage and drawing.

Using outlines from maps, colouring books and other printed materials, participants will cut, combine and reconnect familiar lines to create their own imaginative “new world maps.” Through this playful process of collage and reconstruction, they will experience the spirit of experimentation and originality that characterised the Young British Artists (YBAs).
