Special DOMMUNE program, “ENCYCLOPEDIA of YBA & BEYOND,” to be streamed on Wednesday, February 11!

To mark the opening of YBA & Beyond: British Art in the 90s from the Tate Collection which launches at The National Art Center, Tokyo on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 (public holiday), a special live program will be streamed on DOMMUNE, Japan’s pioneering live-streaming media platform:

YBA & BEYOND Exhibition Commemorative Program
“ENCYCLOPEDIA of YBA & BEYOND.”

The program will feature Gregor Muir, Director of Collection at Tate and co-curator of the exhibition, in conversation with cultural researcher Hiroki Yamamoto and writer/translator Momo Nonaka, offering an in-depth exploration of the exhibition.

This exhibition highlights the work of artists active in the UK from the late 1980s to the early 2000s, drawn primarily from the Tate collection. Through approximately 100 works by around 60 artists, it examines a period of extraordinary creative energy in which themes such as popular culture, personal narrative, and shifting social structures were expressed across painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation.

The DOMMUNE special will delve into the exhibition from multiple perspectives, discussing both the featured works and the curatorial framework, while exploring connections to the social, media, and cultural landscape of 1990s Britain.
